The DJ, producer and remixer Philipp Basedow aka Spedro has intensively worked on aligning harmonies and dissonances during the last couple of years. It sounds like an impossible attempt but it became a huge playground for stylistically comprehensive DJ sets which was also combined successfully from the DJ duo “The Kakofoniks” over the years. The art of uproaring and dreaming in a single set developed the unusual experiments of the complex duo into a distinguished headliner act sound.
Despite the advantages of the togetherness Spedro’s own productions missed out a little bit – even though Philipp never lost track of himself being Spedro on his own. There were only a few remixes he released as Spedro in the last two years. Back in the days he was famous for extensive tracks as a label migrant on imprints like Seoul, Lordag, Höhenregler, Cimelde or on various compilations. These tracks were well-known for their vocal parts, head banging grooves and synth parts full of emotion. Spedro’s latest productions offer beside the goosebump moments a stylistic range Philipp discovered and started to love throughout the last years.
Today’s Spedro combines all these facets. His collaboration in the radio show and club tour “Viva la Electronica” together with Bob Morane contributes to this diversity and in this context gigs throughout Europe are not uncommon. The move from the beautiful Harz Mountains to Berlin in 2010, more than twelve years of experience as a DJ and influences from Hip Hop over everything which has no 4/4 rhythm have a massive impact on his style. All these factors have contributed to Philipp being an extraordinary act – no matter under which alias – you always get to feel the full package of emotion.
